Unwanted Glasses
Yarm District Lions recycle unwanted glasses by collecting them for reuse in eye clinics for people with sight problems in the developing world. You can drop off any unwanted glasses for recycling at Morrisons Pharmacy at Teesside Park, at Cooper & Barr in Stokesley and at Marie Curie shops in Billingham and Middlesbrough.
In February we sent 3,750 pairs of unwanted glasses for recycling, along with more than 100,000 pairs from Lions clubs across the North East, Scotland and Yorkshire. Every year Lions clubs across the British Isles collect more than 1.5 millions pairs of unwanted spectacles for overseas clinics.
